A tackle box is a must have for anyone going fishing. Your tackle box will contain all your fishing necessities.
Basic fishing tools
Of course, the basic contents of your tackle box should be tools you use for fishing, such as spare hooks, lines, sinkers, and baits. Some tackle boxes have built-in bait boxes for keeping live baits. Extra tools also come in handy, such as needlenose pliers, a knife, and a file. One time or another, you will need these extra tools so keep them around in your tackle box.
Organizing your tackle box
Sometimes, fishing enthusiasts make the mistake of just throwing things into their tackle box. While this can be a convenient way of using your tackle box, it really is not very organized. At the same time, you may end up losing your catch if you need to deal with a confusing tackle box. Arrange your tackle box according to the importance of each item in it. Make replacement hooks, lines, and sinkers easily accessible. Tools likes knives and pliers should be secured and also easily accessible.
Regular tackle box vs. tackle box-in-a-belt
Some fishing enthusiasts don’t like the trouble of bringing a whole box when they go fishing. Their alternative is the tackle box-in-a-belt. The difference with these is that these are smaller and can contain only your bare fishing necessities.

If you’ve only taken up fishing, there are basic fish catching tools that you should have. Having these basic fish catching tools easily accessible can make fishing a lot more fun.
Hooks, lines, and sinkers
A hook pertains to the device that actually catches and impales a fish. This does so through its mouth or abdomen. A fishing line, on the other hand, is the cord used for angling. Your “luck” in catching fish can be affected by the material, weight and length of your line. A fish sinker is the weight you attach near the hook. The weight allows the bait to sink, adding to your ability to catch fish.
Rods and reels
A fishing rod pertains to the pole or rod used to cast the hook, line, and sinker. You will eventually use the fishing rod or pole to reel in your catch. A fishing reel is set up at your end of the fishing rod or pole. When you have a catch, you begin reeling this in by retrieving your fishing line through your fishing reel.
Baits
A fishing bait refers to the lure you use to catch fish. You can choose between natural or artificial fishing baits.

I hate it whenever my fishing line snaps, especially if I already have a big fish on my fishing hook. So, when I heard about the latest advancements on monafilament fishing lines, I immediately bought one for myself. The latest monafilament fishing lines go in a variety of size, colors, strength, and thickness. What I like most about such fishing tool is that its more efficient and it is an inexpensive powerful tool compared to other pricey, yet breakable fishing lines. In addition, monafilament fishing lines are developed to appear transparent in water, so you can catch fish easier and faster.

If you have noticed that you've gained a lot of weight because of those good hearty fish meals, maybe it's time for you to get an aerobics instructor or something. But you just can't afford one, with your lined-up fishing expeditions and all, right? Then, it would be time for you to cut up on the cost of your damn fishing gear! The first thing to start out with is your tacklebox. Since you've been bass-fishing for quite a long time now, you should have a tackleboxful of an assortment of baits and shit. With this, you need a new one, and getting a cheaper tacklebox comes into your mind.
Wednesday, May 2. 2007
A plastic tacklebox is generally cheaper than standard tackleboxes. After long years of actual bass-fishing, you may already have a huge collection of lures and whathaveyous in your damn tacklebox. Of course, it would eventually fill itself up to the brim. This would push you, a veteran bass angler, to go up your local bait shop and get yourself a new and shiny tacklebox. Wrong move, my friend. If you have other things to spend on, such as good and sturdy fishing rods and other stuff, go get yourself a plastic tacklebox.
Tuesday, May 1. 2007
Plastic Tackleboxes also come in an assortment of types and colors. You should pick the clear type plastic tacklebox. This is because you'd have no trouble at all choosing which bait to use during one of your bass-fishing ventures. You, as a seasoned bass angler, may have had a large share of frenzied dilemma everytime you spot a large and fat-assed bass while you're hauling one from the same fuckin' spot! In case you had a metal tacklebox, or even a hard plastic one, chances are you may have let the bass go, or some of your damn lures just went overboard without an actual line!

A damn good bass angler knows that modern equipment could provide any angler a cutting advantage in his bass-fishing ventures over those who seem to be stuck on old tricks. Much like those technophobic fools who have not yet embraced the innovations brought about by the modern information age, these guys usually come home empty-handed. I'm quite sure they don't have good fish meals every now and again, you know. Totally different from those who use fast sinking blade baits, which is among the best bass lures I have used on my bass fishing exploits!
Monday, April 23. 2007
Now a fuckin' extraordinary combination you would ever have on a bass fishing expedition would be efficiency and speed when it comes to your fishing tools. A good fast lure isn't everything, you know. Yes, it has to fuckin' sink fast, but it also has to efficiently cover the most possible water depths and areas in the shortest time, too. Plus, these geniuses have even added a little feature that could provide any bass angler the edge he needs over a fat-assed bass! Good vibrations with blade baits, perhaps?
Sunday, April 22. 2007
At first, I thought these guys who came up with the damn idea of vibrating blade baits were either weirdoes or dweebs. Upon seeing the flashy metal shit, I had this sudden instinct to throw it out of my damn tacklebox! It would've been the biggest mistake I would have made on my bass fishing career, you know. But I collected my shit, and tried it out. It wobbled as it easily sunk through the damn waters, and straight it went into a fuckin' fat bass' sucker of a mouth! You should try it out, and get the silvery type, for it attracts prime bass attention, you know.
Saturday, April 21. 2007
There are a lot of stupid people out there who think that a lot of lures in their damn tacklebox would provide them with more than a fighting chance to enjoy a good fish treat back at home. This is the dumbest idea I have ever heard in my bass fishing career! In doing so, half the time of your fishing expeditions would be spent weeding out crap from shit, shit from good lures, and so on. I don't think these dumbasses have even thought of using Spinnerbait lures for versatile bass fishing.
Friday, April 20. 2007
You see, Spinnerbait lures provide a seasoned bass angler the versatility he needs in hauling in those fat-assed fish of the open waters. This is because these lures are strong enough to ward off shit (yes, even rocks) which usually prevents a nice and juicy bass to see it. If it doesn't catch a glimpse of your lure, then how in hell would you be able to hook it up your line?! These damn good lures can provide you with the capability of fishing in varying depths due to its weight variations. Plus, it could also provide you with the speed you need in catching a speed-freak bass. Yes, sometimes, you get a few of those, you know.

If you're planning to fish for salmon, I think you'd be needing more than your expert fishing skills to do just so. Well, I, for one, make it a point to carry along the stuff needed to catch salmon as if they were flying around by the hundreds. You see, these guys are attracted to flashy colors like how babies have sworn loyalty to their mother's tits. Even with your fast internet connection, the information on cyberspace wouldn't be of much help for your salmon fishing venture, buddy! That is, until I came to your rescue.
A flashy flasher is all it takes to catch that fat-assed salmon, my brother! Pick the colors which would make your eyes sore, and I think you should as well take the glowing type. But don't overdo it and start taking all those neon-colored lures, for those guys aren't as stupid as you think they are! You should make it a point to pick the lures with the flashiest colors, yet natural-looking, you know. I, for one, take green-colored lures in my salmon fishing ventures, and I usually end up with more salmon than what Jesus had back then! With what I catch, I think I wouldn't be forced to equally divide my damn catch to thousands of people. With this tip, I think I could feed each and everyone of them people back then a salmon each!

A good fishing buddy of mine once told me that fishing requires much scientific approach as does it manual fishing skills. He boasted that he has learned this from his internet browsing ventures, specially now that he's got a fast internet connection. Now that took the crap out of me! What the hell does Einstein and his company have to do with the open waters, a good fishing boat, a sturdy fishing rod, and a seasoned fishing expert? They certainly have nothing to do with the fish, except maybe to satisfy their seafood appetite! I don't know if they did have a craving for seafood, 'cause you don't have enough open waters back in Germany, you know!
Well, this friend of mine then told me of the advantages using your quantifying and analytical skills as much as your manual fishing skills would provide you once you're out fishing. You see, the fish you intend to catch has as much habitual preferences as do those penguins in the shores of Antartica. If it does have a shore, mind you! Well, what he meant was that just like us, their anatomic imprint prefers a certain temperature range in which to survive. If it goes out of that range, it would die. Fishes aren't fools, specially when it comes to basic survival skills. So it would thus do you good to carry along a temp gauge in all your fishing expeditions.
Basically, a temp gauge would, of course, measure the temperature of the waters you would want to fish in. If you flunked your junior high science class, then you wouldn't even know the difference between a temp gauge, even if it's not for fishing, and a barometer. I use a temp gauge to monitor the water temperatures, in its varying ranges, and I also make it a point to measure the different temperature levels of each depth level, too. I carry along enough information on the fish I want to catch, and I carefully compare their living preferences, in terms of temperature, to the waters I intend to fish in. This gives me a cutting edge advantage over them, as well as over those fishing buddies of mine who lack the cognitive skills that I have.

I already learned my lesson - always prepare monofilaments whenever I go fishing. It took me a relatively long time before I resolved into using Ande monofilaments. The idea occurred to me just days after a week long agonizing battle with kingfishers that rip my fly lines.
Talking of monofilaments, Ande is a brand I truly rely on. Aside from being strong and high-quality, the brand is commonly used in sport fishing activities, especially in tournaments. No wonder seasoned anglers have stocks of this on their cabins.
The monofilaments come in various metallic and neon colors - pink, green, blue, yellow, black, and white. Each color represents the 'pound test' where the monofilament is bracketed. For example, the blue filament is appropriate for a hundred to 400 pounds, the green filament works best with 4 to 20 pounds, and the white filament holds approximately 125 pounds. Most of the time, I use the white or clear type because it becomes invisible underwater. If the monofilament is unseen, then the fish focuses its attention to the fly: a strategy I learned during my monofilaments disaster period.
I prefer Ande than other brands not only because it is already renowned, but because of its neat packaging. Each monofilament is coiled in a skein. Each spool holds fifty yards of monofilament - enough supply for a month's hectic sport fishing.

Strictly speaking, proofs of the ancient fly fishing in Spain are found in two surviving 14th and 15th century books. These are the sole bases for the accounts of ancient anglers in Spain. They're written almost a century apart from each other and contains valuable remarks about fly fishing.
The earliest book is authored by a soldier named Francisco Basurto from the city of Aragon. It's entitled Little Treatise and uses dialogs in ascertaining the edge of fishing using flies or lures amongst divers sports. The texts revealed that Basurto used spliced rod that has a wooden handle with a whalebone apex and flies with silk bodies. He even recommended anglers to throw the fly up and down the river or stream so trout will perceive it as a real fly.
In 1624, another fishing book is discovered. If the Treatise is a series of dialogs, this one is a manuscript authored by a man named Bergara. Unlike the Treatise, it contained more sophisticated and complex patterns of fishing adapted from British methods. Astorga's arrangements are closely tied and utilized at least five various hackles. During those times, it's also discovered that Spanish fishermen used the same equipments utilized by the English anglers. The rods contain no reels and are used for dapping on the water, the traditional fishing method.

Although most fishing equipments are made of plastic or stainless steel, we cannot trust these materials to protect fully our gears from corrosion or rust. However we can always pat them dry, especially the rods, every time we are done fishing. But it does not mean that the rods are not susceptible to dust and moist. Having learned about this I immediately consulted a fellow angler whom I heard of using rod sleeves.
Particularly, he uses the one manufactured by Sunrae. My friend even demonstrated to me just how practical and economical the sleeve is. Practical because the Sunrae sleeve is a cover for the rod and a protection for the lure. Its length measures forty-eight inches. Any rod readily slips onto this sleeve. It is made of durable and high-quality PVC plastic. Meanwhile, it costs $5.50 only so it is economical.
Aside from serving multiple purposes, the Sunrae sleeve could also be included in a hiking gear backpack. No, I do not mean that trekker poles fit in the sleeve. It only makes carrying rods easier during hiking especially if your fishing site is a mountain stream. In the end, I was convinced that the sleeve is the wisest way of protecting my rods.

You probably think that having the best fly lures and rods will guarantee a successful catch. Honestly, I also had that attitude before. But wait until you try using the WiggleFins. Only then will you discover just how plain and simple lures look under water.
Actually, a Wigglefin, in a sense, is regarded as an accessory. But its effect if used with lures will definitely give them a new look. For those who are not familiar with this gadget, the Wigglefin is a gadget made of plastic that is shaped like a disc with a concave facet and convex rear. If you ask me, I would rather use the clear type. But depending upon the lures and the target catch, we could also make use of the other colors.
Just what is the big deal in using Wigglefins? Well, their structures produce wiggling effect to the lures. Whether you use in still waters or streams, the gadget does the same thing. This will send signals to the fish that the lure is mobile, so action begins. I mean, fishes like moving targets. In case you are in for an enjoyable fishing sport, then having these extra gadgets will help you a lot.

So you want to be as fashionable as possible when it comes to fishing. I may have some tricks up my sleeve, but I may not have the same preferences as yours regarding fishing gear. This is because vanity does not run in my blood, and I trust more my fishing skills along with the quality of my fishing rod, my fishing lures and my fishing hooks rather than my looks.
Anyway, they say fishes have a weird view of the world, but this doesn't mean that you must get into bizarre outfits just to get their attention and all, you know. I haven't heard yet of a good catch made possible by an attraction between an angler with a clown get-up and a huge bass. Fishing gear is mainly there to protect you from the heat, the rain, the sleet, or the snow, more so the open waters.
So, this just means that in order for you to get the fishing gear you want without neglecting the purpose of having fishing gear, you must choose what you like best and what you need. Yes, you should also prioritize the former for the latter, much like the way successful businessmen manage their equally successful business ventures. This is because having the fishing gear you want and actually need puts you one step ahead of the game, and having the fishing gear you always wanted but never really needed at least puts you in a situation where you're not stuck with something you hate.

Fishing, as an outdoor sport, requires the right equipment. Having a fishing pole either too long or too short for you would bring in more problems than catch. Just the right strings, hooks, and baits are of the same importance as intermediate fishing skills.
The fishing pole should have a length that is most suited for you, with regards to your height, weight, along with the weight and size of the dream fish for dinner you have in mind. But, neither should it be too light nor too heavy for it may cause problems while in the middle of hauling what is caught in your fishing hook, such as broken rods. In dragging in a large catch, tied-up strings after getting a powerful lurch from your fishing rod or a hook that catches anything but fish may also bring in problems. Choosing attractive baits, or lures, would definitely make your fishing sprees more bountiful than using dull baits.
But, neither should the perfect fishing equipment be too expensive. You would just have to know what you need and where you can get it at a very affordable and competitive price. Thus, getting the necessary information on fishing equipment from the internet or from professional game fishermen would be very helpful indeed.

I enjoy fly fishing. Every time my family is on summer vacation, I insist that we go on fishing. But, honestly, what I love about fishing is my gear. I don't go fishing without style; I believe that fish will come to me if I look pretty enough. So, let me share with you my real fishing gears.
Aside from a good reel, stable tied knot, fine line and other fishing stuff, I wear an outfit that is suited to the event. I prefer short-sleeved shirt, fitted in the waist, and a wide arm holes for liberal movement while casting and catching. Use a brighter color shirt to match with the environmental ambiance. A pair of short or pants can match your shirt. However, I use fully stretchable waistband. There are a variety of shorts and pants available in the market. Choose the most comfortable fishing outfit for you.
Consider the fabric of the clothes, so you will feel fresh even after your fishing activity. Check the labels of each suit you buy, and see if the clothes have a UV protection element. By the way, your eyes need something to wear, too; use the right UV-protected sunglasses.

There are tools and tricks for every trade. Sports fishing or angling also has its tools and tricks. The most basic fishing tool or gear is the fishing rod-and-reel set.
This is enough for a beginner who wants to go fishing under the conducive weather. Nonetheless, care in choosing quality set should always be exercised. An amateur angler must first be comfortable using the rod-and-reel set before moving on to more complex equipment. Fishing rods may come in different sizes and materials, some may be wood with plastic laminates, some maybe fiberglass, and some are carbon fiber. The materials making up the rod is secondary only to skills and experience.

Fishing is one of the most popular sports today. Going from one destination to another trying to catch as many fish as you can is an adventure.
Of course, fishing is not just casting your bait into the water. In order to have a fruitful time, you need to know some tricks and use the right fishing equipment for you.
There are various types of gears available depending on your needs. If you are a beginner in the sport, it is important to get the advice of an expert.
The secret in successful fishing does not lie so much on the equipment, but rather on how well you use it for your advantage.

Skills and equipment work hand and hand in getting the perfect catch. Angling enthusiasts rely not only on their skills to catch fish but also on the quality and dependability of their equipments. There are specific fishing tackles or gear to be used for specific type of fish to be caught. You will definitely need a different set of equipments in catching predator fish like sharks as you would use in catching commercial game fish like salmon or tuna. However, the very basic fishing tool is the rod and reel. The specification is not very important as long as the user is comfortable. Beginners in angling should first master the rod and reel before proceeding to more complex instruments.
