Rock fishing may not sound as interesting as fly fishing, but in case you are already tired of chasing those halibuts and king salmons, then this diversion suits you best. I can confidently make this statement because I already tried it once in the New Zealand waters. I guess the country is the perfect rock fishing destination because of its rocky beach resorts that are teeming with kingfish, sharks, and snappers.
However, rock fishing is quite impregnable. Most fishers make a mistake in fishing during high tide when large waves engulf the shores. Which is why I went there on low tide. I brought with me warm clothing, a torch, rope, flare, and an emergency kit. Fortunately, I never had the need of them because I started fishing at dawn and only five hours later, I already caught five large snappers.
The standard rod for rock fishing is the twelve inches surf type combined with a large reel to aid smooth spin casting. I also used a ten-kilogram rig that required me less effort in pulling my catch to the shore. Aside from these sturdy gears, I incorporated my hooks with berley baits. But I caught my snappers using pilchards and skipjack strips.

If you're wondering whether Antarctica is one desolate fishing hole or not, I suggest that you cling on to the positive answer. Although it's freezing cold in our fishing destination, hope still floats in icy waters of Antarctica. Aside from polar bears and seals, whales, rat-tailed fish, ice fish, robber fish, crocodile fish, and cods are plentiful in here. No doubt these species managed to adapt in extreme conditions that their life cycle is absolutely unaffected by low temperatures.
I bet sport fishing enthusiasts would find a hard time catching big game on this side of north pole. Aside from the fact that the weather in frost-bound Antarctic continent numbs our sturdy hands, it's also difficult to feel the movements of our baits. Unlike in ice fishing, Antarctica fishing requires resistance to weather and defensive skills against other predators.
I guess, and since I'm sure that only a few of us are interested in catching Antarctic cods, I think it's high time that we equip ourselves with knowledge about Antarctic. Although this place isn't a popular destination, only few of us are aware that Antarctic's the major source of fin fish. Together with crabs and krill, this fish is sold in international market.

Sometimes, I ask myself if I should feel guilty about sport fishing. It is public knowledge that anglers, myself included, play the game for the benefit of practicing our fishing skills. It is only a bonus if we get to catch rare species and big game.
Fishing started as a hobby. If it has evolved into a sport then that is mainly because a great number of people got interested on it. But I don't think it's something to feel guilty about. Maybe I was just moved by the article I read last week. It said that rampant fishing results in the depletion of fish species. That is an acceptable notion, but as far as I am concerned fishing is legalized so fishing activities are monitored all parts of the globe.
The article is almost accusing us of killing a quarter of the saltwater population. As mentioned in the article, trout has become the victims of both predator fishes and humans since they are the greatest sought after catch. True, we are engaged in a sport fishing hobby, but we should be responsible. I hope my fellow anglers would also speak about this matter. As for now, I guess all we could do is to report unlawful fishing activities.

The island of Phuket, dubbed as Asia's greatest, has been a favorite fishing and scuba diving destination especially during summer time. According to an article in Fishing Phuket, world-class game fishing on the island awaits venturesome anglers, while they regularly visit Phuket in the pursuit of catching different kinds of fish or simply enjoy the rich marine life found in the said Island. There are no fishing quarters on the Island, but there are several resorts where fishers can stay or relax after their fishing activities.
As Phuket's gamefishing industry is still in its infancy, there is an abundance of gamefish to be found in the region. Fishing in Phuket offers anglers the opportunity to target many of the world's most popular gamefish. However, the best fishing is usually found around full moon and spring moon.
Several species of giant fish could be spotted on the Island. There also varieties of tuna, fighting fish, and sharks that can be seen on the farther areas. Phuket is also a perfect scuba diving destinationprovides astonishing sights, but the real beauty are the treasures down under. Fishing in Phuket is truly a rewarding experience for adventurous fishers and enthusiasts as well as amateur anglers wishing to further their knowledge of the blue water fishing.

If you are into fishing, then you may want to check out www. bluewater-anglers.com. The site features the Anglers' fishing adventures and some of the fishing destinations, which are mostly found in Asia, together with the fish species found in each island. Also included is a gallery of photos taken during their fishing exploits plus a harbor yacht called Gecko that contains all the amenities for an enjoyable fishing, available for lease to those who would like to experience the Blue Water Anglers fishing feat.
According to their journal, some four years ago, Anglers started fishing in Andaman Island in India. They found several species of big fish in the said island and commented that the peoples of Andaman are completely unaware that they inhabit a very inconspicuous spot on earth that is teeming with marine life. Their next stop, Phuket Island in Thailand left them with an overwhelming experience since it is more than just a fishing destination, but also a place for a perfect getaway.
The place boasts of beautiful beaches, hotels and scuba diving areas, and spa resorts. In the last stop, Siliman and Surin Islands near Phuket, they learned that the government of Thailand, in the pursuit of preserving marine life, set a non-fishing zone, about three miles long, that allowed the Anglers to have their fishing outside the said territory. The Anglers are continually discovering the significance of fishing in our daily lives as well as seeking the mystery of marine world.
