If you go over the fishing rod selections of St. Croix, the reel equipment are among the best and must-buy gears. I tried one of the latest St. Croix saltwater rods, the Avid Series saltwater spinning reel. The reel is truly a perfect rod for surf fishing. Aside from its balanced, handsome, and light features, the spinning reel also heaves a better number of fish catch, compared to other reels available today. If you want to have a great saltwater fishing experience, try using St. Croix saltwater spinning reels.

I don't know whether you have tried out fishing on those damn icy waters that usually thaws mid-spring, or not, but I think you have heard stories of how mighty strong the fish in those regions could get. Some could even drag you out of your boat and let those icy waters freeze your fat ass! So don't be stupid and try fishing through the damn ice with a crappy fishing rod that's not quite for ice fishing. You should know better, especially now that you have the guts to fight those damn strong sea creatures through the cold ice. What you should have before you go to one of these dangerous and equally tricky ice fishing ventures is a fishing pole that wouldn't break itself, and at the same time, one that wouldn't break the line.
With this, you should grab a pole that has just the right flexibility. This is because a fishing rod that's too damn stiff would just break your goddamn line, and you'd end up losing an ice fishing fight against those fat-assed fishes of the icy depths! Plus, your flexible fishing pole should have enough strength not to break itself when in one of those fish-dragging situations. One advice: the fishes in these icy waters could literally break your spine more than your wimpy fishing pole! With just the right crap for this kinda shit, you'll end up having a good fish treat back home, and you'll be needing it with that damn good bottle of whiskey in your cabin, my friend. After all, the cold weather in these parts is just too damn crappy not to finish the day up with one good drinking session with those fishing buddies of yours!

Ever since fishing became a sport, participating countries began carrying out rules and regulations that control delinquent fishers who are persistent in exploiting the fishing holes. One precautionary action deals with licensing of rods. Particularly, anglers in the land of Wales and England are the first recipients of changes in rod licensing. The government agency responsible for monitoring the country's environmental affairs, along with Britain's Postal Office, created a deliberate licensing process.
The new regulation requires anybody aged twelve and above to have a rod license. The said permit applies to trout, salmon, eel, and freshwater fishing in Wales and England. The licenses are available in the Postal Office and anglers can purchase them either via the phone, direct back payment, or online. This is probably the most convenient rod licensing process in Europe.
There are three types of licenses – full, one-day, concessionary, and eight-day. Only individuals with blue vouchers (badges) are granted with concessionary permits. Meanwhile, the badges are granted to anyone who receives either a disability allowance or pensioners' supplement; an individual who's accounted blind or disabled (but initially granted a vehicle). A person who doesn't fall under any of the aforementioned categories is obliged to purchase his or her license that cost £6.50 (one day), £20.00 (eight days), £31.75 (concessionary), and £63.50 (full fishing season).

If you think that you have in your possession the 'rod-of-all-trades', then I suggest that you think twice. Based on my experience, I have seldom encountered problems with selecting the right rod for a specific fishing adventure. Well, it is common perception that strong rods must be used in catching big fish, while small rods goes with small fish. But, if you are serious with fly fishing, then here are helpful hints with regards to choosing the right rod.
Basically, the numbers tell it all. I learned this while I was on a Mexican fishing sport. If I remember it right, the lightest of all rods is the number 2. It could be used with small flies. Meanwhile, the number three allows fishers to have long casts since its weight is definitely manageable. On the other hand, the number 4 rod is used when fishing on streams.
I still could remember that the first rod I bought is the number 5. I used it for fishing trout. The number 6 can carry up to 10 pounds of fish. Rarely do I see anglers using the number 7 because it is quite heavy, but is effective for 12 pounds fishes. But, if you are a dedicated big game fisher, then the number's 8 because it allows anglers to cast farther thus providing a greater chance of catching the big ones. I hoped these simple tips helped you.

I know that you have been looking for the strongest and most reliable fishing rods in the local stores. You probably have surfed the Internet for the best rods in town. I also do the same, but this time, I suggest that we set aside our 'hunting' for a moment, and try to discover just what makes s strong rod.
I was able to come to a conclusion, after long years of fishing, that plastic materials are much better than wood or metallic elements in making the toughest rods. Although ore is regarded as the strongest element on earth, it fails to preserve the rod since it is liable to rust. After some time, I finally discovered the 'secret ingredients' that make up a powerful rod.
There is Titanium and yes, it is an alloy. However, if it is mixed with graphite, a tough, lightweight, and durable rod is made. Titanium is very resistant to corrosion and is sensitive enough to capture the slightest movement of the fish. Next, we have graphite. This element alone is able to manufacture a durable and smooth rod. Manufacturers that use graphite are able to design small-diametered rod that is absolutely strong even when used with big fish. Last, but not the least, fiber glass is also incorporated in the rod. I found it a bit amusing that the same fiberglass component in my Hyundai Azera sedan is used in my rod. Now, that is a tough one. So, next you buy a rod, read the label, check if the aforementioned elements are included in the rod components.

I have been digging information on the best rods over the Internet. There are not so many reviews about them. I think the best way to find out is to try the rods in various fishing bouts. But, I found the rods by the G.Loomis company the perfect one for game fishing.
But, before anything else, I would like to congratulate a fellow angler. He just recently broke a record in the Oklahoma state. Oh, I forgot to mention his name. He is Steve, and he is the best fisherman in Oklahoma. I do not mean to brag about his feat, but I am sure he did not make it all because of luck. You see, he defeated the hundreds of participants in the March 22 fishing contest.
That is not all. You will be astounded with the fact that the lake they were made to fish at is affected by massive water deficiency due to the present hot weather in Oklahoma. But, here is the catch. Steve made use of a GLX rod. I wonder if he had any idea that the rod would make him win. I seldom see anglers use that rod brand. Even I have not yet tried the G.Loomis.
So I guess you got the idea why I said that G.Loomis rod is the ideal one. If Steve made a record with it, then that proved that the rod is highly dependable, and can handle big fish. Steve caught a smallmouth weighing 8 pounds. I wonder if I can use the rod for fly fishing.

Fishing is a fun activity that most people enjoy. Some go to different fishing spots during holidays to experience a wonderful day of fishing with the family. An experienced fisherman spends hundreds of bucks to sustain his fishing gears and enjoy the fishing job. One of the very important tools that an angler carries is the rod.
There are many considerations in choosing a fishing rod. Bamboo, graphite, wood, steel, and fiberglass are the types of rods. Depending on style, fishing rod comes with different lengths, from four feet to sixteen feet. The average length of a rod is six feet. Usually, kids use a shorter fiberglass rod. In choosing the rod, one must think of the kind of fish he or she wants to hook.
The surrounding of the location should also be considered. Short and elastic rod is suitable in water with trees and branches around. But, for a big and aggressive catch, a thicker and stronger rod is better to use. Buying rods is not necessarily getting the most expensive. Fishing rod should always compliment with the style, location, kind of fish to catch.

Perhaps the most primitive method of catching fish is using bare hands. Spearing and using nets may have developed much later. Using bait, on the other hand, is arguably an ingenious innovation which does not require too much brute force. The use of bait resulted in the development of fishing hook, line, rods and reel.
The simplest form of fishing rod may be just a stick or twig with a line. More sophisticated materials eventually developed as fishing evolved into a sport. The standard modern fishing rod includes a reel for the fish line. An ideal fishing rod should be lightweight and comfortable to handle. A fishing rod also must be flexible yet durable to stress.

One of the basic things that a fishing aficionado could not do without is of course, the fishing rod. It is usually used for fishing as sports unlike in commercial fishing where nets are being used instead of fishing rods. A fishing rod is comprised of a fishing line, long rod, and reel at the base of the rod. The line is threaded along the rod and has a small hook at its end. It is reeled in and cast out to catch fish. Most of the time, an angler is attached on the line to lure the fish to bite the bait.
Usually, fishing rods come in different length, weight capabilities, and sizes. The size may range from 6 to 16 feet. Fishing rods come in different length to adjust to the effort that a fisherman could exert against the force of the fish being caught.
