If you are an experienced hand at fishing on a lake or a beginner it can prove to be extremely fun and exciting. For the novice it will be important to master the correct rigging, casting, type of bait etc., so one will get the best enjoyment possible from their experience. Therefore, here are some tips that could help you with lake fishing.
Lake fishing tip: using the right bait
Like all living things, fishes can be unpredictable. A lake can host many species of fish and can be quite difficult to catch. Try to switch between artificial and live baits if your zone allows using live baits. By switching between these two types of baits, you can increase your chances of catching a fish. Try a variety between spinner baits, top water baits, plastic worms or if applicable, use live baits like worms and winnows. You will definitely catch one with patience and good fishing skills.
Lake fishing guide: knowing where the fish are hiding
Going fishing takes some preparation and one of them is taking a look at the lake where you’re going to fish. Important things to observe first in a lake are the locations of lily pads, large rocks or logs. These places are where fish would usually try to hide. You should also consider that staying in an area for a very long time could discourage some fish to take your bait. The more ground you will be able to cover, the more chances for you to catch a nice fish.
Going fishing
Try reading some books on lake fishing so that you will be prepared every time you go fishing.

The yellow fin tuna is a common species found in various parts of the world. As a matter of fact, the yellow fin tuna is a popular item among commercial fishermen because they can get as heavy as 400 lbs, making them the perfect ingredient for a variety of delicious dishes.
What sports fishers need to know about the yellow fin tuna
This fish species is also popular among sports fishers because of several reasons -- palatability, fighting abilities, and size potential. As a very palatable ingredient, yellow fin tuna meat is known for its dark red shade and strong flavor. This is why many love to eat yellow fin tuna whether raw or cooked. As for its fighting abilities, the yellow fin tuna is known for its fierce fighting skills that can put a strain on your fishing gear. And because this type of fish can get as heavy as 400 lbs, sports fishers who want a good challenge prefer to hunt for the yellow fish tuna.
Tuna fishing tips
Because yellow fins are fighters, you should equip yourself with a 50-lb class two-speed trolling reel, a fishing rod that's as thick as a broomstick, and a line that's at least within the 25 to 50 lb test range. You'll also need big no. 9 or no. 10 hooks. Fishing during the late afternoon is always a good idea because yellow fins bite better in areas with low or minimal lighting conditions.
Once you're able to reel in your precious yellow fin tuna, put it on ice right away. If you plan to eat the fish, make it bleed by making slits on both sides of the body's fish before putting it on ice. Once you've prepared the fish, yellow fins taste good when fried, baked, broiled, or grilled.

When you take up fishing, you’ll know that there are different types of fishing baits to choose from. Different fishing baits will get you different results. So, it is important to choose the right ones for your needs.
Natural baits
Natural baits are common. Examples of natural fishing baits include worms, roe, grubs, and maggots. Grasshoppers, frogs, and salamanders can also be used. Sometimes, natural bait anglers use balled up pieces of bread too.
Artificial baits
Artificial fishing baits are also gaining a following because these are specially designed to attract fish. Some of these artificial baits look like the live ones. Artificial baits are usually made of plastic.
Choosing the right bait type for your needs
Choosing the right fishing baits not only depends on the availability of the baits. You should also choose the right fishing baits based on where you are fishing, be it fresh water or saltwater, and what kinds of fish you intend to catch. Sometimes, live fishing baits can be more effective because of their smell and color, which select fish are familiar with. Trout is also known to be attracted to grasshoppers, ants, and bees.

I would usually laugh out loud when I hear people referring to spinnerbait as a hook with an attached wire, a silicone skirt, and a head lead. Some even define is as the clothespin spinnerbait. You see guys, there is really more to spinnerbaits than what most of you know, so better pay attention. Spinnerbaiting has two types. One is called the tail spinner, and the other as in-line spinner.
Saturday, May 5. 2007
As I have said , there are different kinds of spinbaiting. The widely utilized spinbait is the so-called clothes pin style. The tail spinners, meanwhile, is a great choice if you are going to fish for finicky largemouth or smallmouth bass based on the compact size of your bait. The in-line spinners are way behind the other types of spinbaits. Today, in-line spinners are awkwardly catching on to largemouth or smallmouth angler.
Friday, May 4. 2007
As a result, many companies in the fishing industry made a lot of profits through their proper use of spinnerbaits. Its versatility and luring prowess resulted to the numerous patrons of the spinnerbait fishing technique. With the proper use of spinnerbaits, many institutions in the industry of fishing made big profits as a result. So, the next instance you go fishing, why not try a spinner bait for good old-fishing activities and leisure.

At the start of your bass-fishing venture, you should have the damnest lures in a precious tacklebox. This is in case you want to end up with a fish treat at home that would rival any good gourmet meal served in a classy joint. Doing so would assure you of more catch in less time and with equally less effort. You should remember that there should always be different baits to be used in different water depths. If you're scared shit of deep waters, you may fish often in shallow depths. So, a bass-fishing expedition in shallow depths requires you to have buzzbaits in your handy tacklebox.
Sunday, April 29. 2007
Buzzbaits are probably the deadliest bass lures that a seasoned bass angler could use in any of his bass-fishing ventures. But, it is best in shallow waters such as creeks, flats, and shit, you know. It could also be used in rivers and shore wood covers. Because these waters are warm, these baits could be lunged rather furiously through its shallow depths. It could also be bumped off from logs and shit, and could even be streamlined through low grassy areas of these waters. In case you're in search for that fat bass, using these lures would probably give you more time to fish than wait. Yes, for these baits could actually lure any shallow water bass out from those logs and grass down to your plate at home.
Saturday, April 28. 2007
Shallow depths usually have warm water. With this, fishing in these waters requires you to have aggressive lures that can be hastily pitched in such shallow depths. This is because shallow and warm depths would mean that the basses in these regions are rather fast and strong. If you're in trail of a speed freak, then you yourself should have the lures that are fast-moving and efficient. Buzzbaits aren't for slowpokes, if you know what I mean. So if you think and move fast, yet scared chicken-shit of deep waters, your tacklebox should definitely be filled to the fuckin' brim with these lures.
Friday, April 27. 2007
I would choose a plump chicken meal over several fish treats anytime, you know. But it would be a different thing if the fish to be served came out of my own fishing venture! In fact, I'd even trade two fat and juicy chickens for a damn good bass from rocky waters. This is because a fat-assed bass is pretty hard to come by, let alone catch, in these rocky regions of the open waters. Yet, as a seasoned bass angler, I have a fishing trick for those rocky regions, and it's all about in-line spinners. With this, rocks are no match for a bass-hungry man, even if these lures are quite hard to find!
Thursday, April 26. 2007
With these in-line spinners as baits, you'd have more of a fighting chance when it comes to actual bass-fishing in rocky waters. This is because these lures can squeeze themselves through those rocky parts where a bass just might be hiding. Plus, it could be pitched in any depth, and it could even manage to rummage for a juicy bass amidst logs and shit. But be it a fat-assed bass, or even anything with scales, these baits are sure to throw in as much fight in it as you would, when faced with rocks and crap. This is because, much like Eminem, this lure would fuck anything that actually swims, you know. So if you're planning to fish sometime soon on the rocky waters of the planet, it would be good to have at least a tackleboxful of these lures!
Wednesday, April 25. 2007
You see, it would be a challenge to actually fish in rocky waters. This is because the fish here could easily hide among the damn rocks. It's like trying to catch the president while he's on one of his golfing expeditions. But, much like this man, it would be a different thing if you have a good lure in your handy tacklebox. No, you don't need something flashy, nor a lure that would prove to be worth a month's wage. You just need to keep those in-line spinners handy, more so if you're fishing in these rocky regions.

If you've been fishing for a large share of your life, you very well know by now how much importance a fishing guy would have to give the hooks he'll be using in most, if not all, of his fishing expeditions. But most of these damn newbies think that in buying new hooks, it would provide them a good catch in their fishing ventures, and with a good catch, it would be a damn good fish treat back at home as well! Misinformation definitely makes dumb-asses quite a whole lot dumber!
You see, new hooks aren't always sharp. Of course, a sharper hook would definitely catch more of those fish, if not efficiently do just so. But I have this test when it comes to how sharp should a damn hook be, and it has provided me quite a couple more good catches in my fishing ventures. I usually test the sharpness of the hooks I would be using by pricking my thumbnail with it. If it slides off you're thumbnail, chances are you wouldn't be able to get even a couple fishes more in your fishing venture! You see, the sharpness of your hooks is necessary because those fishes aren't as helpless as you think they are. They fight just like any other man would if you threaten him with a sharp knife, and if you stab him, he'll do anything to free himself, wouldn't he?

I really have no idea if this particular fish trick works, but I saw this old man sit down before a small river, throw his fishing rod then sat still. After a while, as no movement was happening in the fish line, the old man decided to hum a melody, which to me, was a mistake in fishing. Yet, after a few minutes, there was movement, and in seconds, I saw the old man shaking, trying to reel in a possible catch. Finally, he got his wish, and the old man took hold of a wriggling fish which he quickly threw inside a waiting bucket.
The old man ended up with a total fish catch of three. He quickly went home humming the same melody, his right hand holding on to is fish catch while his left hand clutched tightly his fishing rod.
The question is, did the melody that the old man was humming have anything to do with his fish catch? I can't say, because most fishermen I've watched keep still as they wait for a fish to catch their respective baits. The old man, however, had a different approach.
I tried to do some research about this but the closest I got was about some dumb law in Pennsylvania where you are not allowed to catch fish except with your mouth.
Maybe it was embedded in some ancient folklore or belief, I can't really say. Maybe I'll just try to catch sight of the old man next time he goes fishing and get the answer straight from his mouth.

I know the only thing you could think of as a damn hot fish would be a steamed one, and I don't think you would have to know that they're cold-blooded creatures of the open waters to know that one! No, this isn't about how hot and horny they get in various times of the year. Their sexual preferences would not affect your fishing ventures. Well, at least functionally, that is.
This is about the concept of a fish living in cold waters, and wanting to move a tad bit slower than its counterpart tropical fish. By tropical fish I mean those that swim about in hot to not-so-cold waters, and that tend to move a bit faster than those in colder waters. I think this goes to show why the people of the sun prefer to work long hours of the day out in that damn furiously hot weather just for a measly wage, while others tend to spend most of their lives in contained environments, usually in front of a computer in a place with a fast internet connection. Well, I believe the weather dictates how everything with life moves, and those in colder regions of the planet tend to be a bit lazier than those in the tropical countries!
This is why, in your fishing expeditions, temperature and fish movement are very much related to each other. You see, a fish found in cold waters prefer slow-moving lures. On the other hand, fish found in hot waters move fast, and thus you'd be needing equally fast lures so as to have even a fighting chance of catching them! If you're thinking you'd be having more of a chance in cold waters to catch more fish than usual, think again! If you fish in cold waters, then that would mean your fishing in cold weather, too, right? Then this would also affect how fast you move, or even how slow you think!

You probably have heard of trolling before, but are quite confused with its meaning. I wouldn't be surprised if the troll doll comes to your mind. But seriously, trolling is a unique, rather old school fishing method that is equally effective as fly fishing.
Basically, trolling is used in commercial fishing and requires numerous hooks and lines. Trolling is a method used in old times when explorers travel the seas and explore the different large fish species in each bodies of water. At that time, tuna is the target fish. But as time went by, trolling is discovered to attract almost all big fishes; salmon and so other commercial species are also caught using this method. Although it is less preferred than netting, trolling still provides anglers with big game. Here, the hooks (usually with live baits) are simultaneously lowered in the ocean waters. After all the lines are fixed on their places, fishers wait until the fishes take the baits in.
Most fishes that are caught by trolling are delivered to frozen, fresh, and smoked fishing markets. I learned about this through a chef friend who confessed that the seafood he uses for his smoked salmon pizza is bought in such markets. However, the supply of troll catches is not stable. It usually arrives on the market during salmon's peak season.

My love for the fishing sport can be traced back during the time my dad used to take me fishing with him. In all honesty, I thought that fishing's so ridiculous that I'd rather watch entertaining soap operas the entire day. Or I would always fake sick whenever my dad would want us to go fishing for the weekend. I never see what's so exciting about it. It's dullsville. At least that's what I thought before I caught my very first fish.
My dad is a very skillful angler, and he loves bass fishing most. Since my very first fish, I would already eagerly join my dad on his fishing trips. A newbie to fishing, I usually get two or three catches. But my dad, man, you should see him fish! He takes in bass after bass after bass! He is just one mean fishing machine. He thought me tricks on how I could bait in more bass, and this is what I learned:
After casting your line, let your baitfish sit in water for a few of seconds. Then jerk your rod two to three times and set it once more. You can also make the bait swim a bit slowly. If the bass took the bait, draw your line with an upright pressure between the fish and you, and it's guaranteed you'll have a great bass fishing day.

Hey, you may want to try something new. I suggest you throw those reels aside and hold a spear instead. You know what, spear fishing is definitely a very challenging one, but it is also fun. The idea might sound prehistoric. I mean, the cave men used to fish in this manner, and I do not think that you will endeavor spear fishing.
Well, I just thought that it would be a remarkable experience if I get to catch a trout using spear. I am not good in aiming, but at least I can throw a spear. Anyway, I had to go to North Dakota just to learn spear fishing. There, I was met by the instructor who has a cautious access in the fishing camp. His skills must have been trained in the Dakota wilderness. Hey, I do not say that he is a wild one, but really, I admire his skill.
A successful spear fishing can be achieved if, and only if the waters are clear. It is advisable to fish in lakes where there is shallow water. It took me four hours to catch just one. This I was able to do so because there are many fish in the lakes. The challenge comes when there are few fish in a wide lake. Precision is very important, as well as timing. Unfortunately, I was not able to progress. The single catch I had was turned into a grilled bluefish fillet. I guess I will hold my reels instead.

There is no other great outdoor sport than fishing. Ever since I learned this craft, I tried my best to learn as much as I could about it and from it. I admit, I still have a long way to run, but thanks to my friends, most of them are seasoned fisherman, I get to learn bits and pieces from their actual fishing bouts. It was through them that I learned of the tactics in fishing, the best rods, the strongest tackles, the best fishing spots, and the appropriate fishing boat for certain fishing areas. Most of all, it was through them that I learned about ice fishing.
So you think you can just fish anywhere, anytime. Hold it! How about during winter. Yeah, I know you do not go fishing during winter, but had it occurred on your mind to try some time? Trust me, ice fishing is wonderful experience. The cold weather adds to the challenging task of catching fish beneath frozen waters. Hey, just do not forget to update yourself of the daily snow forecast.
Just like ordinary fishing activities, ice fishing requires us to bring our gadgets - complete fishing equipments. Aside from the reels and winter jacket, we need flashlights to guide our hunting of the perfect spot to cut a hole. We also need a tent to shelter us in case the snow blows hard. Heaters are of importance, as well as augers. Basically, ice fishing is like hiking in the alps. We must wear spiked or cleated boots so we can walk around the frozen water. The thrill in ice fishing is the long wait required to catch just one fish. I suggest you bring with you a chair and a radio so would not get bored. Good luck!

When I got to game fishing as a hobby, I bought really superb fishing gear and the best fishing equipment. I doubled, even tripled my patience limit hoping for cod fish dinners. I even tried calling "Here fishy, fishy.." and felt so stupid after. After many years of indulging in the sport,I think that the best way to attract cods is by presenting it with a scrumptious bait. After all, those cods don't appreciate my fishing outfit.
Cods are perfect for light summer holiday outings. And I think that aside from juicy worms, cods also crave other stuff, like squid. But my choice cod bait is peeler crab. These crabs are simply crabs that are undergoing molting to allow development and growth. These are just the right size for cod fishing because they are not too small nor too big. In other words, they attract cods because they are plump but they are not big enough to threaten my dinner away.
I have never tasted peeler crabs before but perhaps cods like it because the shells are easy to break and crack. Plus, some even have split sides or backs to allow water to enter the crabs' flesh. Anyway, they taste good to cods and that's all that matters to me. The only downside from using peeler crab baits aside from too many caught cods' is that they are hard to find. I would recommend going to specialty bait stores for game fishing for these.

Patience, yes, is man's best friend when it comes to fishing - hours of waiting, weeks of preparations, several nights of drafting sick leaves for the office, etc. An even better companion when you're out in open waters, patiently waiting for that first bite, is luck. Once you have the right fishing equipment, a good video camera, excellent fishing gear, and the skills of an old-time angler, your fishing days would soon be over if you don't have patience and luck as fishing companions!
Patience is a virtue in any discipline - be it fishing, studying, working at the office, etc. If you want to get that prize catch you've been dreaming of, having a lot of patience would land you a good photo and a fish treat at dinner! Luck, on the other hand, is neither controllable nor can it be practiced - it just requires you to do just the right thing at a certain moment to get the results you want.
So, a patient angler has developed this skill through years of practice. A lucky angler, on the otherhand, is a born one. If you put patience and luck together, there'd be no stopping you to get that prize catch of yours in no time - no time at all!

Fishing is a sport in which people like you get to enjoy the peace of the clear skies and the dampness of the air in the waters where aquatic creatures dwell. The techniques of fishing, when studied carefully, would give you the peace of mind you want. When practiced, your fishing ventures would go along without the hassles of uneventful fishing sprees, nor the troublesome worries of getting the right stuff. It would also provide you with the relaxation you expect from fishing.
Fishing requires the right equipment to use, such as fishing rods, baits, fishing strings, and, of course, fishing skills. In addition, you must also have knowledge on where to fish, and which spot you could get a catch, if not a lot of it. Plus, water-navigation skills, such as boating skills, are advantages when it comes to fishing.
So, it would do you good if you consider consulting long-time sport fishermen for the information you need regarding the necessary fishing equipment and the equally important fishing skills. Or, better yet, search the internet for more detailed information regarding fishing, such as the good locations to fish, the best equipment to use, and the techniques and fishing skills to practice and thus master. In addition, keep in mind that boating skills, as well as water-navigation skills, are advantages when it comes to bountiful fishing sprees.

Fishing is a very relaxing activity for most people. In fact, most families are enjoying this activity during holiday. While Mommy is preparing the fish barbeque, Daddy is busy with his fishing gear. Of course, as a son, you have to do your fishing task. That is to get the bait to catch a big carp fish.
Since you are just a neophyte fisher, you ought to identify some good bait to lure the fish. There are different baits that you can use for fishing. But, keep the bait cool and fresh so that the hook can hold it. Remember; always get a piece of advice from Dad, because he is already expert in this field. However, I'll tell you the most used baits of some fishing enthusiasts.
Most fishers are using worms as their baits. Be it long or short, a worm can still attract a fish to get to the rod. But, chicken liver is effective bait, too. You can also get a cut-bait; a bit of fresh salmon eggs, a tail of crayfish, a fried chicken skin, grasshopper, and a shrimp.
Saturday, December 9. 2006
For me, the hardest sea creature to catch is the crayfish. This sea creature is very common in lakes, ponds, and other shallow bodies of water which looks like a lobster. The only difference between a crayfish and a lobster is that the crayfish is smaller in terms of its size. However, this does not decrease its tastiness as a seafood delicacy.
If you desire to catch a crayfish, then should look for the perfect spot. These fishes are usually located in hidden places such as stones, roots of plants, rocks, and a lot more. Once you have found your spot now is the time to use the fish trap. Make sure that your trap is strong and sturdy, or else the fish might get away. You should also use delicious bait so that the crayfishes will get attracted to your spot. Some baits you can use are fish guts, salmon guts, shad, herring, shad, etc. It is not recommended to use baits such as beef, chicken, or pork because crayfishes do not eat that. Due to the fact that crayfishes are picky with their food, you should always feed them fresh baits. If not, then they will not come out of their hiding places to eat your food.
